The SCAD student film In Quiet Light explores the intimate relationship between mothers and daughters, capturing moments of tenderness, tension, and resilience as they navigate life’s challenges together. The visual identity needed to feel just as personal and emotionally honest as the story itself, something vulnerable and human, instead of polished or conventional.
To reflect that tone, I created hand-drawn typography for the promotional posters and opening title sequence. I leaned into subtle imperfections to mirror the film’s quiet strength and emotional depth.
Inspired by themes of femininity and growth, I incorporated delicate references to flowers. These elements subtly echo ideas of nurture and resilience, qualities that parallel both motherhood and nature.
